How does my identity work?

Aeromancer

Sun Shower deals tick damage and enhances your Basic Attack and Movement Skill. Its effects vary depending on your Aeromancer build.

  • By default, Sun Shower lasts for 12 seconds and reduces foes' Attack Power by 10%.
  • Wind Fury: Sun Shower lasts 8 seconds and boosts Allies' Attack and Move Speed by 12%. Debuff reducing foes' Attack Power is removed.
  • Drizzle: Sun Shower lasts for 24 seconds and increases Weather Damage by 30%, and provides Allies with a 9% shield while still reducing foes' Attack Power by 10%.

Synergies

Skill Notes Effect
Tornado Best tripod option on row 1. +10% Crit Rate to party for 12.0s.
Spread Conflicts with Builder tripod. Not viable before ark grid. +10% Crit Rate to party for 8.0s.
Thick fog Skill is Less reliable than Tornado. Not used. +10% Crit Rate to party for 12.0s.
Face to Face Skill itself is not considered before ark grid due to low damage and high cooldown. Niche tripod option post ark grid as it is damage loss. 50% damage resistance to party inside the skill effect.
Rainstorm Tripod conflicts with identity generation tripod so not taken. Reduce foe Attack Power by 25%
Spring Breeze Skill does close to 0 damage. Skill is potentially taken after Ark Grid on some builds. Effect comes from tripod. Allies gain 25% of your max hp as shield while they stand in the skill effect. Effect lasts for 3.0 seconds and refreshes shield periodically.
Sunshower (Wind Fury) Synergy automatically active when skill is active. +12% Attack and Movement speed for 8.0s.
Sunshower (Drizzle) Synergy automatically active when skill is active. Allies gain 9% shield. Reduce foe Attack Power by 10%

How do the two builds compare?

Notes

Makes Wa Skill 01 12 Piercing wind the main source of damage while also making it push immune. Every umbrella skill used reduces Wa Skill 01 12 Piercing Wind cooldown. The build utilizes CDR gems and Quick Recharge runes on Wa Skill 01 4 Spread + Wa Skill 01 5 Downward Strike to spam Wa Skill 01 12 Piercing Wind as much as possible.

Notes

Standard build with no requirements for bracelet. Assumes ~4% Critical Rate to be coming from Adrenaline books + Rings + Bracelet. Use Swift pet.

Build can be adjusted depending on situation. Consult the table below for simple modifications:

Situation Stat spread Node changes Explanation
Second crit syn 27 Swift / 13 Crit Limit Break 3, Supersonic Breakthrough 2 We can drop some sources of Critical Rate for higher Evolution Damage and more CDR.
πŸ‹Maxed Adrenaline, 2x Legendary Crit rate rings, Crit Rate on bracelet 24 Swift / 16 Crit Limit Break 3 The default build gets better the more Critical Rate you have without changes, dropping Keen Sense 1 for Limit Break requires quite a bit of Crit Rate to be worthwhile.
πŸ€Allergic to Feast and Books 27 Swift / 13 Crit Zealous Smite 2, Supersonic Breakthrough The lack of Attack and Movement speed from Feast can be compensated by getting extra Crit Rate from tree and running higher Swiftness.
ADHD (w/ Maxed Adrenaline, 2x Legendary Crit rate rings) 28 Swift / 12 Crit Limit Break 3, Supersonic Breakthrough With investment to the Critical Rate the Zealous Smite 2 is a viable alternative.
Attack Speed + Movement Speed bracelet 24 Swift / 16 Crit Supersonic Breakthrough Extra Attack Speed + Movement Speed from bracelet is enough to make Supersonic Breakthrough give more Evolution damage than Standing Striker.

Notes

It is better to adjust Ark Passives to account for Attack Speed demerit from Mass Increase than run Hit Master. The only reason to take Hit Master is when Feast is not used.

Umbrella Skill, Main damage skill, Spender, Weak point 2, Paralysis Immunity

  • One of the two most important Spender skills.
  • All of the row 1 tripods have the same damage increase; which one to use is a matter of personal preference.
  • Tripod Tier 1 41 Stormblade - The skill now dashes through enemies.
  • Tripod Tier 1 39 Giant Squall - The skill is now ranged.
  • Tripod Tier 1 40 Exquisite Movement - The skill is now a 360 slash around you.

Umbrella Skill, Secondary damage skill, SpenderNO IMMUNITY

  • Next most important Spender skill after Piercing Wind and Wind Gimlet.
  • 30% of damage comes from the first slash.
  • 70% of damage comes from the Footwork followup.
  • Tripods which specify "Footwork damage" only apply to the second hit, which is why generic "Outgoing damage" and "Crit damage" tripods are taken.
  • Moves you back very slightly when used, sometimes causing you to get hit. Cast it while looking to the side of the boss if needed.

  • Tripod Tier 1 4 Keen Strike - Can be optionally used to make this non-spender at the cost of <1% damage. Current Control should run this tripod.
  • For optimal damage, this skill should be cast point-blank when possible for all of the ticks to land.

T Skill and Awakening

Thunderwind
Thunderwind

You do not need to use a builder skill before T Skill, as it does not have a Reversal tripod.
Converted to a Normal Skill when Trained Cleave is taken.
Before taking Trained Cleave, holding it for only 0.25 seconds will deal full damage. Holding longer will not increase the damage.

Awakening
Storm's Approach

This awakening deals a marginal amount of damage but has relatively little animation lock with back-loaded damage. It will apply and refresh Critical Synergy for the entire duration.

Hyper Awakening
Akasha's Wave

Summon a wave and surf on it. Aeromancer cannot be targeted while this skill is active, which can be used to cheese some patterns. This will do the same thing as a Time Stop Potion and will not save you from wipe mechanics or certain special patterns.

Notes

Rotation is priority based
1. Fish for Conviction+Judgement proc by casting Tornado and Wiping Wind in sync. This also refreshes crit synergy.
2. Use Thunderwind and Space Cleave off-cooldown
3. Use one of the generators (prio sunshower) to get Current Occurence shield
4. Use one of spenders (PW=Gimlet, rest lower prio)
6. Repeat from start

FAQ

Which elixir should I use?

Critical

I want to customize the build according to my gear

Use the calculator available at: Aero drunk calculator

Pay attention to these values:

Crit rate of 95% or better. As high average multiplier as you can and as low X/T cooldown as you can.

Blunt thorn?

No. It is a forbidden tech.

But I really want to run Blunt thorn?

Use the calculator above and compare it to your other build options. Blunt thorn is basically always weaker than other build options due to Wind Fury Aeromancer does not have enough innate sources of Crit Rate, while gaining extra Crit Damage. There are certain edge-cases (such as very fast homework raids) where Blunt Thorn can be used for parsing but prepare to restart often as 50%+ from our damage comes from single/double hit skills.

Bracelet Tech?

Bracelets can grant Attack and Movement speed as a Fixed Effect that does not need to be rolled. This makes it possible to buy pre-rolled Swift/Crit + Attack/Movement speed 2 liner and roll the missing stat. Attack and Movement speed are valuable to Wind Fury due to Supersonic Breakthrough requirements.

The value of an Attack and Movement speed roll is (2.3/3/3.6) evolution damage which is roughly (1.3%/1.6%/1.9%) damage on a typical build. This is weaker than most damage lines but can be easier to get.

Crit Rate or Crit Damage rings?

Crit Rate rings are recommended because they make adjusting the build more flexible. However, either can be used as the damage difference is within 0.10%.

Can I run Dominion Timing instead of Unlimited magick?

Yes. This can be used instead of Unlimited magic. This will effectively result in a slightly lower cooldown for X with increased mana usage.

Can I run Optimized Training?

Yes but it's damage loss compared to Limit Break because extra CDR does not make up for the loss of evolution damage.

Can I run Unlimited Magick 2 or Dominion Timing 2?

Not really, only if you have extreme amounts of Crit Rate from Bracelet + Crit synergies in party. Wind Fury Aeromancer is starved for Critical Rate, and opportunity cost of getting more (eg. Keen Nodes, giving up generic 6% damage synergy) is not worth it. Another downside is that skills tend to be available at same time too often, meaning the extra Cooldown Reduction is not particularly effective.

If you end up going this route, don not mix Dominion Timing 1 with Unlimited Magick 1 because cooldown reductions go to different buckets and end up being worse than using either node maxed.

I heard about Spring Breeze being used?

This skill can be used instead of Wiping wind or Whirlpool at the cost of  approximately 5% damage. In return you will get near permanent party wide shields and extra push immunity skill. The tripods taken are Quick Prep, Tenacity/Wide-Angle Attack and Northeasterly Wind. Do not take Southern Wind as the main reason to take this skill is due to party wide shielding.

I heard about Face to Face being used?

Not worthwhile before Ark Grid, it is too important to reliably proc Conviction+Judgement for mana. Face to Face is only a single hit with a long cooldown making it much worse for proccing Judgement.

I am going OOM, why?

Support is not using their mana regeneration skills often enough.
You are in a high uptime fight with no breaks in-between.
You are not running anything to mitigate mana usage.

What can I do about going OOM?

Use Focus rune on Tornado dance.
Use Whirlpool instead of Wiping wind.
Use mana food.
Use Spread and  Downward Strike more sparingly.
Skip using weather skill if Conviction + Judgement combo is on cooldown.
